Privacy Policy
Last updated October 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Factual Library ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you access or use our website and services, including AI chat, image and video generation, the file manager, the community feed, notepads and billing features (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you acknowledge the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you register we collect your name, email address and a password, which we store only in hashed form. We also generate a public username for your account and, if you choose, a profile biography.
Content you submit. This includes chat messages and prompts, files and images you attach or upload, image and video generation prompts and their outputs, community posts, comments and bids, notepad text and attachments, and support or bug reports (including any screenshots you attach).
Billing information. When you purchase tokens, payment is handled by our payment processor, Razorpay. We receive and store the order and payment identifiers, the amount, and the status of the transaction. We do not receive or store your full card, UPI or bank account details.
Usage and telemetry data. We automatically record information about how the Service is used, including the AI model selected, token counts, request status and error messages, token balance changes, IP address, browser and device type, and server logs. We use session cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to protect forms against forgery.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate and maintain the Service, including transmitting your requests to AI providers and returning the results.
- To create and manage your account, apply token credits and debits, and process payments.
- To display content you choose to share on the community feed, showcase or marketplace.
- To monitor performance, diagnose faults, enforce usage limits and detect fraud, abuse and violations of our Terms of Service.
- To respond to support requests and send service-related communications.
- To comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the content of your chats or generations to advertise to you.
3. Third-party AI processing partners
To generate responses, images and videos, the Service transmits your prompts, relevant conversation history, project instructions and any attachments you include to the AI providers enabled on the Service, which currently may include OpenAI and Anthropic. These providers process that data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies, and may retain it for the periods stated in those policies. Do not submit information through the Service that you are not permitted to disclose to such providers, including credentials, secrets or regulated personal data.
4. Other disclosures
We disclose personal information to (a) our payment processor to complete transactions; (b) hosting, email delivery and infrastructure providers that operate the Service on our behalf and are bound to protect the information; (c) law enforcement, regulators or other parties where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety or the integrity of the Service; and (d) a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. Content you make public or accessible by link
Content you post to the community feed, your public profile, and items you submit to the showcase or marketplace may be viewed by other users and, where you opt in, by the general public. Posts may be embedded on third-party sites. Notepads are accessible to anyone who holds the notepad URL unless a password has been set, and a notepad password protects access only for as long as it is kept confidential. You are responsible for deciding what to share.
6. Data retention
We retain account information and content for as long as your account is active and as necessary to provide the Service. Items you delete from the community feed, gallery or image and video libraries are moved to a trash area and are permanently removed after a limited period (30 days by default). Accounts removed by an administrator are retained in a recoverable state before permanent deletion. Billing and token transaction records are retained as required for accounting, tax and dispute-resolution purposes. Security logs are retained for a limited period for operational and abuse-prevention purposes. Data held by AI providers is subject to their retention practices.
7. Security
We apply technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including hashed password storage, encrypted transport, access controls on administrative functions, and restriction of account data to authorized personnel. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or stored on the Service. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
8. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of your account and associated data, export of your data, and restriction of or objection to certain processing. You can update your profile details and delete your account from your account settings. For any other request, contact us through the support and report function inside your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may retain information where the law requires or permits us to do so. If you are in a jurisdiction that grants a right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, you may exercise that right.
9. International processing
We and our service providers, including the AI providers described above, may process information in countries other than the one in which you reside. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age required by local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have done so, we will delete it.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date, and where a change is material we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of a revision constitutes acceptance of it.
12. Contact
Questions or requests concerning this Privacy Policy may be sent to The Factual Library through the support and report function inside your account.
